Elementary School Counselor

Shelby-Rising City Public Schools has an immediate opening and currently accepting applications for our PK-5 School Counselor position for the 2nd semester of this school year (2024-2025). Coaching and Extra Duty assignments available but not required. Candidates must hold, or be able to obtain a Nebraska Department of Education Teacher Certification with proper endorsement in School Counseling. We will consider provisional-eligible endorsement of a well-qualified candidate. Duties include: providing support to the instructional process with responsibility for helping students develop career/life goals; support student academic achievement; provide individual and group counseling to students; providing support during a crisis; work with community agencies; and partner with parents, teachers, support staff and the community.

The District offers paid family health/dental insurance, flexible leave and experience is carried over from previous school years.  We are a 1:1 Digital Device school with Chromebooks for 5-12, Ipads for K-4 and continues to support progressive and innovative teaching practices.  Teachers are provided a MacBook Air Laptop and ample instructional resources in the classroom.  We are double tracked through our PK-5 and each classroom ranges from 14-18 students in each. We have a strong community support, a growing economic area, and steady enrollment.  The new school facilities were completed in 2017. Base Salary begins at 38,750 on a 4.5×4.5 scale.
