School Psychologist Job Description

Seward Public Schools is seeking a full-time School Psychologist to support students’ academic, social-emotional, and behavioral needs, PK-12th Grade. The School Psychologist provides comprehensive psychoeducational assessments, behavioral interventions, and mental health services to support student success. The candidate must possess a strong knowledge of MTSS,  psychoeducational assessment, collaboration, and mental health.

Job Description

  • Assessment & Evaluation: Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations in compliance with IDEA and Rule 51.
  • Data-Informed Decision Making: Utilize data to guide academic and behavioral intervention planning and implementation through the MTSS process.
  • Collaboration: Partner with teachers, counselors, and families to design, implement, and monitor behavioral and academic interventions.
  • Crisis Management: Participate in school-wide crisis teams, conducting threat assessments and suicide screenings.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to timelines.
  • Stay current with state and federal regulations.
  • Uphold ethical and professional standards of practice.

Additional Information

This position is for the start of the 2026-2027 school year. This is a 195-day contract with a competitive salary depending upon year of experience and education. Full family health insurance is paid along with long-term disability insurance, paid by the district.
