Preschool Teacher

The Blue Hill Early Learning Center is seeking to hire a dedicated and passionate Preschool Teacher to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will provide a safe, nurturing, and educational environment where young children can develop essential skills through play-based learning. As a key member of our team, the Preschool Teacher will implement developmentally appropriate practices to support the cognitive, emotional, and physical growth of children ages 3-5.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement engaging, age-appropriate lessons and activities that align with early childhood education standards.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning through exploration, creativity, and social interaction.
  • Observe, assess, and document each child’s developmental progress and communicate regularly with parents/guardians about their child’s growth.
  • Collaborate with other staff to create and maintain a safe and welcoming environment, ensuring all safety and health regulations are met.
  • Manage classroom behavior by utilizing positive discipline techniques and encouraging respectful peer interactions.
  • Support children in developing essential life skills, including independence, problem-solving, and social-emotional regulation.
  • Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the needs of children with diverse learning styles and developmental stages.
  • Maintain open communication with parents/guardians through conferences, daily reports, and informal discussions.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training to stay current with best practices in early childhood education.
  • Work with the Director and staff to evaluate and continuously improve the program.

Additional Information

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field (Associate’s Degree with relevant experience may be considered).
  • Valid teaching certification in Early Childhood Education is preferred.
  • Experience working with preschool-aged children in an educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of child development and early childhood education best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and staff.
  • Ability to create a supportive and stimulating environment for children to explore and learn.

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time position with 40 hours a week – Monday through Friday.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
  • May involve standing, sitting on the floor, and being actively engaged with children for extended periods.

  • Competitive salary based on experience and education.
