Math Teacher
Job Overview: The High School Mathematics Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering engaging, standards-based mathematics instruction to students in grades 9–12. The teacher will foster a positive learning environment that promotes critical thinking, problem-solving skills, mathematical reasoning, and student achievement while supporting the mission and vision of the district. Course content will include but is not limited to Geometry and Algebra.
Key Responsibilities:
Instruction and Curriculum Development:

Plan, organize, and deliver standards based instruction that is aligned to the Nebraska Mathematics standards.

Teach Algebra and Geometry courses and other advanced mathematics courses as assigned.

Use a variety of instructional strategies to accommodate diverse learners.

Assess students’ progress through formative and summative assessments while adjusting instruction to support student needs.

Provide feedback to students to support student learning.
Classroom Management:

Maintain a safe, structured, and positive classroom environment conducive to learning.

Manage student behavior by applying research based management strategies.

Uphold school policies, rules, and procedures.
Student Engagement and Support:

Provide individual or small group instruction to students who need additional assistance.

Encourage active participation in practical and theoretical tasks, motivating students to apply their learning to real-world scenarios.
Collaboration and Professional Development:
-
Collaborate with colleagues in such a way that builds and supports a positive culture for learning.

Participate in building and/or district professional development activities to continuously improve teaching techniques and subject knowledge.
Professional Duties:

Maintain accurate student records, including attendance, grades, and assessment data.

Prepare reports and communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding student performance and behavior.

Base Salary: $41,300 (Additional years and hours honored on pay scale)
Contract: 187 Days
