NATURE OF WORK and ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Including, but not limited to: Work under the general direction of the Juvenile Justice Center (JJC) Director or designee performing complex professional and supervisory duties while overseeing the daily operation of the Day School so as to promote and secure the achievement of its pupils. Provide direct, daily supervision of the Teaching staff.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Experience, and Special Requirements Bachelor\’s Degree in Special Education 7-12 grade endorsement from an accredited university or college. Behavior endorsement preferred and experience in academic testing.
Must have a minimum of four (4) years of teaching experience.
Must possess a current and active Nebraska Educator\’s Certificate or Permit with a 7-12 grade endorsement.
Special Requirements
Must have and maintain throughout employment a valid Driver\’s License, own mode of transportation, as well as meet eligibility requirements of \”acceptable driver standards\” as defined by the County.
Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Including, but not limited to: Fulfill the responsibilities of teaching as defined in Nebraska State law, and follow the Code of Ethics adopted by the Nebraska State Board of Education. Effectively apply professional competencies to meet the minimum standards as adopted by the Nebraska State Board of Education. Learn, apply, and follow all policies, rules, regulations, and directives of the Sarpy County Juvenile Justice Center (JJC). Establish and maintain effective working relationships with representatives for the juvenile and correctional community, coworkers, residents, and the general public.
Supervise the academic integration with the youth\’s home school and exchange information to provide an appropriate school program to ensure a smooth transition back to the home school.

LOCATION AND HOURS OF WORK: Juvenile Justice Center, 9701 Portal Road, Papillion,
STARTING WAGE: $30.51 – Will discuss with applicants.
