Loup County Public Schools will strive for Excellence and Success through Respect and Responsibility. LCPS is a small class D school located in the Sandhills and near Calamus Lake. We are rich in tradition, having numerous 4th & 5th generation students. All of our Board of Education members and many teachers are LCPS alumni, which indicates the commitment, passion, and respect they have for the school. In 2018-19 and 2019-20 school years, LCPS District was classified as Excellent according to AQuESTT and ranked #1 in the Kids Count in Nebraska in child education opportunity. We are a 1-to-1 school and offer a small teacher-to-student ratio.
Sargent is a welcoming community in central Nebraska located 90 minutes north of Grand Island or Kearney. We have Pre-K through 12th-grade students all under one roof. Our community provides a tremendous amount of support for the school and its students. If you believe that it takes a village to raise a child, and have a desire to work in a family-like environment, this could be a mutually beneficial endeavor. Outdoor activities are abundant and we are within 30 minutes of the Calamus Reservoir.
