Reports to: Building Administrators

Compensation: Salary Commensurate with Degree and Experience

SUMMARY: The K-12 Instructional Facilitator is responsible for providing support to the K-12 teachers, administrators and staff in order to improve instruction, learning opportunities and student performance. The K-12 Instructional Facilitator works with teachers and administrators to ensure effective instruction through responsibilities such as curriculum development, use of high probability instructional strategies, lesson planning, data analysis, program evaluation and professional development. The K-12 Instructional Facilitator reports progress to and is evaluated by the Principal. The K-12 Instructional Facilitator pursues opportunities to increase the instructional capacity of classroom teachers as well as ensures the implementation of the Priority School Progress Plan.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Essential duties must be performed on site. Other duties may be assigned 

  • Conduct classroom observations and coaches PreK-12 teachers weekly to support and improve their planning and instructional delivery
  • Co-teach, model, coach and facilitate professional development focused on research-based high probability strategies within the school’s instructional program
  • Support teachers with standards-based lesson planning and development of materials aligned to Nebraska standards
  • Support teachers with the development detailed curriculum pacing guides and involve the faculty and others in the development of specific curricular objectives to meet the needs of the school program based on student achievement data
  • Support classroom implementation of State content standards and lesson planning/delivery frameworks
  •  Build instructional coherence within the PreK-­12 classrooms
  •  Assist with formative and summative testing scheduling (MAP, NSCAS, ACT, etc.)
  • Lead and facilitate the transformation of the school into a results-oriented collaborative learning community
  •  Assist teachers with the collection, analysis and use of data to improve instruction and student mastery of content standards
  • Evaluate student achievement and assist with placing students in the appropriate intervention and support services
  • Support the Student Support Team process to ensure appropriate and timely interventions for students and subsequent referrals for other services if needed
  • Collaborate with teachers to identify the instructional needs of students, set learning goals and targets, and problem solve with teachers to develop best practices for continuous academic growth of all students
  •  Teach at least one intervention group daily
  • Support elementary teachers with the implementation of the components a balanced literacy program and all teachers with implementation of literacy strategies across the curriculum
  •  Work with the principal to create the school’s professional development plan, structure related coaching and identify specific, measurable and attainable benchmarks for the instructional program
  • Provide specific integration and differentiation strategies that enable teachers to meet the needs of all learners
  •  Identify needs and make recommendations for appropriate instructional materials and assessments that directly support and align to the Nebraska State Standards
  •  Manage the materials adoption process
  •  Support secondary teachers in the preparation of curricular content for the course catalog
  • Provide literacy and mathematics resources and support to foster literacy and numeracy development at home and in the community
  •  Ensure the Progress Plan is the focus of instructional improvement
  • Assist and support AdvancED goals and objectives for the school
  •  Contribute to an effective learning climate in the school
  •  Attend special events held to recognize student achievement as well as school-­sponsored activities
  •  Seek to upgrade own professional knowledge and skills
  •  Maintain professional and supportive relationships with students, staff, parents/guardians, and the community
  •  Support school-based parent outreach programs and strategies to engage parents in student learning
  •  Act as an advocate for the school and community
  • Orient and assist new staff and new students through an established mentor program

● Required: Bachelor’s degree from a 4 year accredited college or university in education

  • Prefered: Masters in Curriculum and Instruction or related field. 
  • Prefered: Prior experience in coaching 

● Prefered: Prior experience working with at risk youth.

Additional Information

The base salary for 2020-2021 is $39,870.22. Santee Community School has a 4×4 scales and allows up to 7 years of previous experience. Teachers are also offered full family health insurance with BCBS at the $650 deductible.
