Library Media Specialist/Tech Coordinator
Potter- Dix Schools are looking for a highly qualified candidate to be our Media Specialist/Tech Coordinator. The successful candidate will provide a comprehensive education program that includes classroom instruction and engaging learning experiences as well as seamless technology support for our district. The ideal candidate will be passionate about technology and reading, education, dedicated to student success, and committed to fostering a positive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Curriculum Development:
- Develop and implement engaging curriculum for elementary students.
- Integrate hands-on learning experiences, including field trips, and community projects.
- Instruction:
- Teach various subjects, including but not limited to technology and basic computer skills.
- Employ diverse teaching strategies to meet the needs of all learners.
- Student Engagement:
- Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation, inquiry, and collaboration.
- Collaboration:
- Work with other teachers, staff, and administration to promote interdisciplinary learning and school-wide initiatives.
- Engage with parents, community members, and local organizations to support educational programs.
- Professional Development:
- Stay current with trends and educational best practices.
- Participate in professional development opportunities and workshops.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
- Valid Nebraska teaching certificate in School Librarian and/or Instructional Technology. (or eligibility for certification).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for teaching and working with students.
Working Conditions:
- Classroom environments, as well as outdoor settings for hands-on learning.
- Occasional evening commitments for activities.

This position is for the 25-26 school year and will begin in August 2025. Base salary currently for Potter-Dix Schools is $39,000. Potter-Dix also pays full insurance which is through Blue Cross Blue Shield Nebraska. Potter-Dix does take all years of service and participates in the Nebraska Public Employees Retirement System.
Head Girls Basketball, multiple assistant and junior high coaching and sponsor positions are also available.
