Elementary Teachers
Due to retirements, Potter- Dix Schools are looking for highly qualified candidates at our elementary school in Dix. Elementary teachers at Potter-Dix Schools will provide a comprehensive education program that includes classroom instruction and hands-on learning experiences. The ideal candidate will be passionate about elementary education, dedicated to student success, and committed to fostering a positive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Curriculum Development:
- Develop and implement engaging curriculum for elementary students.
- Integrate hands-on learning experiences, including field trips, and community projects.
- Instruction:
- Teach various subjects, including but not limited to English and language arts, science, math, and social sciences.
- Employ diverse teaching strategies to meet the needs of all learners.
- Student Engagement:
- Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation, inquiry, and collaboration.
- Collaboration:
- Work with other teachers, staff, and administration to promote interdisciplinary learning and school-wide initiatives.
- Engage with parents, community members, and local organizations to support educational programs.
- Professional Development:
- Stay current with trends and educational best practices.
- Participate in professional development opportunities and workshops.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
- Valid Nebraska teaching certificate in Elementary Education (or eligibility for certification).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for teaching and working with students.
Working Conditions:
- Classroom environments, as well as outdoor settings for hands-on learning.
- Occasional evening commitments for activities.

These positions are for the 25-26 school year and will begin in August 2025. Base salary currently for Potter-Dix Schools is $38,000. Potter-Dix also pays full insurance which is through Blue Cross Blue Shield Nebraska. Negotiations for the 25-26 school year will still occur and may change the base pay rate. Potter-Dix does take all years of service and participates in the Nebraska Public Employees Retirement System. Coaching and sponsorship positions are also available for interested candidates.
