Theater Technical Director
Pius X High School is seeking the work of a Theater Technical Director. The Technical Director is responsible for purchasing construction materials, supervising the building of scenery, transporting set pieces from the shop to the theatre stage, mounting the scenery onstage, overseeing the work of the scenic crews during rehearsals and performances, and maintaining the shop’s equipment and supplies. The hours will be after school/early evening with the possibility of some weekends with a minimum of 125 hours. The pay would be a stipend but typically averages around $14 per hour or so. The position would begin in December and run through February 2021 for the Spring Musical and would include a Fall Musical and One Act the following school year. As a long-standing and respected Catholic institution, Pius X High School was established on October 1, 1956, by Bishop Louis B. Kucera, as the central Catholic high school for the city of Lincoln. Since its earliest years, Pius has grown to more than 1,275 students in grades 9-12, with more than 120 faculty and staff made up of both religious and lay people. When the school was named after Pope St. Pius X, it took its patron’s motto, “To restore all things in Christ.”
