Middle School Special Education

Ogallala Public Schools is seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual to join our team as a Middle School Special Education Teacher. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality instruction and support to students with special needs in a middle school setting.

Responsibilities:

Plan, prepare, and deliver instruction to meet the needs of students with disabilities in a variety of settings, including inclusion and resource classrooms

Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students, in collaboration with parents, other teachers, and support staff

Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed

Provide support and accommodations to students during state and district assessments

Collaborate with other teachers and staff to create a positive and inclusive school culture

Attend and participate in IEP meetings, professional development opportunities, and other meetings and events as required

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, attendance, and behavior

Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to keep them informed of student progress and address any concerns or questions they may have

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field

Nebraska teaching certification in Special Education

Experience working with middle school students with disabilities

Knowledge of best practices in special education and differentiated instruction

Strong communication and collaboration skills

Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students
