High School Head Girls Basketball Coach

Ogallala High School is seeking a dynamic and committed Head Girls Basketball Coach to lead and grow a competitive, student-centered basketball program. The ideal candidate will emphasize skill development, teamwork, discipline, and character while fostering a positive and inclusive environment for student-athletes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and lead all aspects of the girls basketball program (varsity, and oversight of sub-varsity levels)
  • Develop practice plans, game strategies, and player development programs
  • Promote academic success, sportsmanship, and leadership among student-athletes
  • Supervise and mentor assistant coaches and coordinate staff responsibilities
  • Organize offseason workouts, camps, and player development opportunities
  • Analyze game film and opponent scouting reports
  • Ensure compliance with school, district, and state athletic association rules
  • Communicate effectively with players, parents, administration, and community members

Additional Information

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience coaching basketball at the high school or collegiate level preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of football fundamentals, strategies, and rules.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with players, parents, and school staff.
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a commitment to developing student-athletes both on and off the field.
  • CPR/First Aid certification (preferred or willing to obtain).
  • Must pass a background check and adhere to all school district policies.
