Early Childhood Teacher $2,500 Hiring Bonus

Ogallala Public School District is seeking applications for an Early Childhood Special Education Teacher beginning in the 2024-25 school year. Applicants must possess or be able to obtain a valid Nebraska teaching certificate prior to employment.  The applicant must have a growth-minded disposition that reflects the desire to build capacity for all learners, the capability to implement research-based best practices, along with the knowledge to interpret data to make informed instructional decisions for the benefit of student achievement and success. Duties include: Ability to work with a variety of groups, teachers, parents and children in homes, daycares and preschools; demonstrate the ability to plan, direct, implement and evaluate successful learning environments; knowledge of primary service provider approach to services is preferred, but training and support will be provided to the successful candidate. Salary is dependent upon experience and education. 

Responsibilities:

To arrange for a full staffing on at least an annual basis to update IEP/ IFSP Goals and Objectives

To provide consultation and assistance to administrators, parents, teachers, and other staff with regard to transition and technical needs of preschool and early intervention children and their families

To obtain written parental permission for evaluation and follow procedural safeguards and IEP/IFSP procedures as established in IDEA and the Nebraska Department of Education rules

To coordinate and facilitate, if necessary, initial, annual, triennial, transition and other staffing as needed for preschool and early intervention children eligible for special education services

To be responsible for file management of children (ages birth to 5) with an IEP/IFSP including progress reports

To attend staff meetings, state-wide and NDE training workshops, as necessary

To assist in securing grant funding as it becomes available

Other duties as assigned
