The purpose of this position is to instruct classes and labs as assigned by the Dean and to develop new courses. This is accomplished by maintaining requisite office hours; providing academic advisement to students; serving on college committees; attending meetings; participating in professional development activities; and performing all instructional-related activities as directed within the policies, guidelines, and regulations of Northeast Community College.
A Master’s degree in related chemistry and/or physics disciplines required.
Two years teaching experience required, preferably at the community college level with an ability to teach at multiple levels from development to advanced Chemistry and Physics.
In addition to knowledge of chemistry and physics, applicants should be able to demonstrate strong communication and organizational skills as well a familiarity with technology and software used to enhance instruction. The ability to adapt to various learning situations from individuals to groups is key to this position.
Special Instructions to Applicants
This position will include teaching, tutoring and other responsibilities that foster student success and advance initiatives within the Chemistry/Physics department for the College.
Applicants selected for an interview will be expected to provide a 15-20 minute teaching demonstration for the search committee.

Salary and Benefits
Position starts with the fall 2021 semester. Salary is based on the faculty salary schedule. This position is eligible for Northeast Community College’s excellent fringe benefits package. Cash-in-lieu of Health Insurance may be available depending upon successful candidate’s coverage enrollment.
