2025-2026 Band Teacher NPHS. $2500 HIRING BONUS

The High School Band Teacher is responsible for teaching instrumental music to students in grades 9-12, fostering their musical growth and development, and inspiring a lifelong appreciation for music. The teacher will plan and deliver high-quality music instruction, conduct rehearsals, direct the school band(s), and prepare students for performances, festivals, and competitions. In addition, the teacher will collaborate with other faculty and school leadership to support the overall educational mission of the school.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or related field (Master’s preferred).
    • Valid state teaching certification in music education (or eligibility for certification).
  • Experience:
    • Previous experience teaching music at the high school level, with a strong background in band instruction.
    • Experience directing a variety of ensembles (e.g., concert band, marching band, jazz band).
    • Strong instrumental proficiency and knowledge of band instruments and music theory.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
    • Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
    • Proficiency in using music technology and software for music notation and rehearsal purposes.
    • Ability to foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods during rehearsals and performances.
  • Ability to lift and transport instruments and equipment as needed.

Work Environment:

 

  • The position requires work in a classroom, rehearsal hall, and performance venues.
  • Occasional evening and weekend work for performances and events.
