Elementary Instructional Leader/Coach
JOB TITLE: ELEMENTARY INSTRUCTIONAL LEADER / COACH
(2026 – 2027 School Year)
Requirements:
- Master’s Degree from an accredited university or college
- Valid Nebraska Teaching Certificate in any content area
- Minimum of 5 years of successful teaching
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate
- Successfully pass the district background check
Terms of Employment: Nine-month year or as established by the Board of Education.
Initial salary placement will be determined by using the current certified salary structure plus 10 days of per diem of the current base salary.

- Outstanding organizational skills with an attention to detail
- Strong technology skills with data entry, various website and program experience

Summary Description:
- The role of the Instructional Leader is to merge the complex details of instruction and testing programs with effective teaching and learning.
- This position is specifically targeted for assisting teachers and leading at the PK-4 Grades
- This position fills an important connection between curriculum, instruction, and assessment responsibilities.
- This position supports the training and implementation of state and local assessments
- This position is responsible for compiling, maintaining, and ensuring the accuracy of student assessment data, curriculum documents, and all related materials involved with the Teaching and Learning Department.
- This information will be used to provide accurate overviews of student achievement and data trends.
- This position will support the implementation of the Nebraska Reading Improvement Act.
- The position will support the implementation of PLC, MTSS, and PBIS within the district.
- This position works with the other Instructional Leaders to train new teachers on the NPS Instructional Model and serves as a district Mentor for new hires. This includes monthly meetings after school with this group.
- This position will have an influence on decisions revolving around instructional and assessment decisions for the district.
The Instructional Leader / Coach will demonstrate and model a passion for teaching and learning. This is NOT a supervisory position and DOES NOT include evaluation of colleagues.
- Essential Duties:
- Consistent and punctual “on-site” attendance at the worksite is an essential job function
- Ability to research and assist with the implementation of effective instructional practices as needed.
- Become knowledgeable about current educational issues.
- Support building and grade level groups in implementing strong PLC systems
- Able to take initiative and problem-solve solutions to various instructional challenges.
- Assist in the development of curriculum in designated areas
- Assist with grading practices, assessment development, and proficiency scales. Implement training on the use of the program and assessment materials.
- Possess a strong understanding of standards-based grading practices, can advise, assist, and help implement grading practices as needed.
- Assist in the development of district wide instructional decisions and publicly support district decisions.
- Builds strong relationships with teachers, administrators, and other colleagues.
- Ability to work well as part of a team and independently in solving problems.
- Ability to conduct training and informational meetings
- Ability to gather, analyze, chart, and interpret data.
- Train on instructional programs for new products for new employees, and provide follow-up support.
- Travel to buildings frequently to assist with curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
- Visit classrooms and buildings to assist with instructional practices and program implementation.
- Provide feedback and support to teachers and principals when appropriate.
- Meet and collaborate with the Teaching and Learning Team on a consistent basis.
- Provide instructional support to collaborative teams within buildings as needed.
- Understand, support, and lead the NPS Professional Learning Community culture.
- Maintain accurate and complete records as required by laws, district policies, and administrative regulations.
