As we continue to grow and improve, we are seeking a dedicated Business Manager to help us manage and enhance the financial operations of the district. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is flexible, organized, and passionate about supporting education through effective financial management.


 

Position Summary:

The Business Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the financial activities of the school district, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and other key financial functions. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, adaptable, and able to work independently in a fast-paced, small school district environment. The role requires a thorough understanding of basic accounting principles and a proactive approach to managing and streamlining financial operations.


 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate processing of all financial transactions.

  • Process payroll for district employees, ensuring accuracy, compliance with regulations, and timely distribution.

  • Prepare and maintain financial reports, budgets, and forecasts for district leadership and external stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with administrators, staff, and external auditors to ensure accurate recordkeeping and compliance with state and federal regulations.

  • Assist in the development and management of district budgets, monitoring financial status and making recommendations for improvement.

  • Handle purchase orders, invoicing, and ensure proper documentation for all financial transactions.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by district administration related to financial operations and business management.


 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in business management, accounting, or a similar role.

  • Solid understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general financial operations.

  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and accounting software (knowledge of AptaFund preferred).

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with staff and external vendors.

  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of a small school district with evolving priorities.

  • Knowledge of K-12 school district financial practices and regulations is a plus.
