Counselor Teacher – Youth Rehabilitation Treatment Center

DHHS’s Youth Rehabilitation and Treatment Centers are in need of a guidance counselor to work with high-acuity youth in the Geneva and Lincoln locations. Candidates must believe in the potential of each individual and inspire learning to create responsible, dedicated, and successful individuals and must be able to regularly demonstrate patience, persistence, caring, empathy, and a desire to do what is best for kids.

This role will oversee high acuity youth ages 14-18. Additional duties may include, but not limited to, escorting students, community projects, and collaborative projects with other faculty / staff members.

Salary is based on the SCATA contract.

Qualifications / Requirements

Valid Nebraska Teaching Certificate endorsed or eligible to be endorsed as a 7-12 Guidance Counselor. Candidates who qualify for provisional endorsement will be considered. PREFERRED: Teaching experience in a residential treatment facility or alternative classroom would be beneficial but not required.
