Educator Apprenticeship Program Specialist (Program Specialist II)

The SAEF grant is designed to expand access to these programs to address urgent shortages in the K-12 teacher workforce and to build the necessary internal capacity, systems, and infrastructure for a successful statewide program.

This position is fixed term, with an end date of June 30, 2025. This position may be extended subject to the continuation and availability of funding.

Office Location & Schedule: This position is assigned to our office located at 84th & O St, Lincoln, NE.

Essential Functions

  • Provides technical assistance and guidance to program participants related to standards, regulations, policies, procedures, and reporting requirements for State Apprenticeship programs.
  • Creates, reviews, and awards competitive sub-grants for Nebraska teacher-registered apprenticeship programs (T-RAP).
  • Assists with the Grow Your Own Nebraska program and the Nebraska Apprenticeship Model and connects other statewide apprenticeship efforts (e.g., the Explore Nebraska initiative).
  • Conducts surveys, gathers results, and compiles information to assist with program evaluation and continuous improvement to increase program sustainability.
  • Demonstrates commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.

Working Conditions and Travel:

This position requires approximately 90% of work time spent in an office environment (e.g., state offices, home offices); the remaining 10% is spent traveling or working in alternative sites such as secondary and postsecondary schools, other state agencies, meetings, conferences, etc. There is also approximately one day of overnight travel per month.

Requirements / Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a related field and three years of experience related to the essential functions of the position. Any equivalent education and/or work experience may be substituted in order to meet the minimum qualifications of the position.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Nebraska’s Apprenticeship or Educator Preparation Systems, and proficiency with Google Drive and Microsoft Office (e.g., Microsoft Teams).

Pay Rate:

$30.219/hour

This rate is based upon available budget funds; any offer will be made at this rate.
