Summer School Teacher- Secondary, Elementary, and Special Education
The Omaha Public Schools will be offering in-person summer school called “Next Level Learning” to students throughout this summer to support our students as we move into the 2021-22 academic school year. Students will have multiple options and programs to choose from at the Elementary, Middle, and High School Levels including welcome camps, jump starts, enrichment, and credit recovery.
Although many smaller scheuldes exist there are basically two terms (June and July) with morning and afternoon sessions in each term. A basic outline of the different options, which are subject to change, is listed below. Secondary students will have the option to attend one or both terms as well as morning, afternoon, or both sessions. Elementary students are encouraged to attend both terms and will choose the number hours they attend each day.
Welcome Camp June 2nd – June 4th (All Day) Teacher Planning Day on June 1st
Term 1 June 7th – July 1st – Teacher Planning Day on June 1st
Term 2 July 6th – July 23rd – Teacher Planning Day on July 2nd
AM session: 7:30-11:00 (2 blocks)
PM session: 12:00-3:00 (2 blocks)
Freshman Jump Start: June 2nd – June 4th (All Day) Teacher planning day June 1st
Freshman Accrual: June 7th – July 2nd (7:30-11:30, 2 Blocks) Teacher planning day June 1st
Term 1 (10th, 11th and 12th): June 2nd – June 25th – Teacher Planning Day on June 1st
Term 2 (10th, 11th and 12th): June 29th – July 23rd – Teacher Planning Day on June 28th
AM session: 7:30-11:30 (2 blocks)
PM session: 11:30-2:00 (1 block)
Term 1 June 2nd – June 30th (Teacher Planning Day on June 1st)
Term 2 July 6th – July 23rd
Students select 1, 3, or 6 hours
Teacher hours 8:00am – 4:15pm
There will be flexible staffing options for Next Level Learning. This application will allow internal and external candidates to indicate preferences for teaching in one or two terms, morning/afternoon/or both sessions, elementary/middle/high, and specific schools.
