Superintendent – Winside
Winside is a community of 470 residents. Winside has multiple local amenities including a grocery store, café, and hardware store. This rural community is conveniently located 20 minutes NE of Norfolk, 15 minutes SW of Wayne and 1 hour SW of Sioux City.
Winside Public School is a Class D school district, with an enrollment of 256 students PK-12. Winside Public School has the highest accreditation offered by the State of Nebraska and has been a member in good standing of the Nebraska Frameworks for Schools since its inception.
Winside Public School offers an exemplary program designed to meet the needs of all students. Remedial programs through college dual-credit programs are offered. Winside Public School has a focus on technology and works to provide opportunities for students to learn, experience, and utilize technology. Winside’s focus on 21st century learning is aided through a 1 to 1 Chrome-book Initiative grades 7-12. Extracurricular activities include sports, fine arts & performing arts in the renowned Lewis & Clark Conference.
The Winside Board is looking for a candidate to:
• Demonstrate strong budget skills and continue the district’s financially responsible position
• Develop and communicate a clear, unified vision to drive decision making and encourage cohesiveness
• Communicate effectively with the community and be approachable and personable with all stakeholders
• Utilize previous administrative experience to lead the board and staff with transparency and integrity
