Superintendent – Sterling

NASB is accepting applications for Superintendent of Schools on behalf of Sterling Public Schools. Sterling Public Schools is PreK-12th grade school located 35 miles Southeast of Lincoln, Nebraska, in northwest Johnson County. Approximately 224 students are served by a single PK-12 attendance center located in the village of Sterling.

The district provides support throughout the school year, providing our students with an excellent student-to-teacher ratio and enhanced individual instruction. Kids come first at Sterling Public Schools, and we strive to build relationships with each one of them to help them be successful here and beyond.

Sterling is the 2nd biggest community in Johnson County with 562 residents. The Sterling Community Association is an active group welcoming all patrons of Sterling and the rural area. The Association promotes the betterment and general welfare of the community of Sterling and its surrounding rural area. The SCA hosts frequent events throughout the year including festivals, sports tournaments, a community play, and the annual Christmas Tree lighting.

Sterling Public Schools is looking for a superintendent who will:

• Possess strong budget skills to maintain the district’s financial standing and plan for the future
• Demonstrate a solid understanding of facility management to oversee remodeling and maintenance while controlling costs
• Establish relationships with staff, community, and parents utilizing effective communication skills
• Retain quality staff and proactively recruit to fill vacancies to provide students and exceptional education
