6-12 FCS Teacher and FCCLA Advisor
Due to a retirement at the end of the 2021-22 school year, Mullen Public School is seeking a 6-12 Family and Consumer Science Instructor for the 2022-2023 school year. The district is willing to consider the option of hiring for the second semester starting January 6, 2022. Mullen Public Schools have a tradition of educational excellence and high expectations. Mullen Public Schools have received an Excellent District Rating from the Nebraska Department of Education AQuESST system.
We are seeking a qualified, hardworking, educator to be part of a team that is committed to doing what is best for students Applicants must possess a current Nebraska teaching certificate with appropriate endorsements and Mullen Public Schools will consider provisionally certificated applicants and transition to teaching applicants as well. The course load includes Intro to FCS, Performance Nutrition, Personal Finance, Medical Terminology, Health Sciences, Middle grades FCS, Fundamentals of Food and Nutrition, Child Development, Home Design and Interiors, and options for many other opportunities. FCCLA sponsorship, coaching opportunities, and other extra duties may be available with this position.
The Mullen FCCLA program has a rich tradition of high quality achievement throughout the past 25 years. The Mullen Chapter has had several Nebraska State FCCLA Officers and they have achieved several awards at the National level for their FCCLA STAR projects. Overall, Mullen has fantastic students with an excellent Sandhills work ethic.
Mullen is a progressive district, with a one to one Chromebook initiative for students in grades K-12, and well maintained facilities with fully functioning kitchen labs in the Family and Consumer Science room. The Mullen Community is located in the heart of the Sandhills between the Middle Loup River and the Dismal River. The Mullen area provides numerous hunting, fishing, and recreational opportunities to go along with amazing golf courses.
2021-2022 Base Salary is $36,300 with EHA Blue Cross/Blue Shield health insurance paid in full by the district, Single dental insurance, 10 sick days, 3 personal days, Long term disability insurance, and many optional benefits such a flex plan, 403B, vision insurance etc.
Start date could possibly be January 6, 2021 or would be around August 10, 2022
