Early Childhood Teacher
Morrill Public Schools has a birth to pre-kindergarten program approved by NDE, licensed by DHHS, in partnership with Head Start. Morrill is 14 miles west of Scottsbluff, Nebraska.
We are looking for a certified teacher with an endorsement in Early Childhood education, or a teacher willing to pursue and Early Childhood endorsement for an early childhood classroom position. We are also willing to hire a pre-service candidate who has at least an Associates Degree in early childhood education who is working on their teaching certificate remotely. These candidates receive a waiver of the teacher certification requirement for up to four years while they work full time in our program and work toward their teacher certificate degree.
Our early childhood program just moved from a 3 to a 4 rating on the Step Up To Quality rating scale. We are also scheduled for a COGNIA (AdvancED) Accreditation review as the Morrill District in the spring of 2022 during which we will be considered for early childhood accreditation with COGNIA. The successful accreditation review will result in Morrill Public Schools, the Pride Cub Care, and Tri Community Preschool becoming the first Public School in the state of Nebraska to be COGNIA Accredited as a System birth – 12th grades!
Preschool follows the K-12 calendar and the position would begin in mid-August. The teacher contract is for 184 days. Our starting salary will be$35,250 with a fringe benefit stipend of $10,500, and we pay 1/2 th premium from BCBS Health & Dental.
Teacher candidates with families of their own, have unique benefits at Morrill Schools: 1/2 price tuition for daycare and preschool fees at the Pride Cub Care and Tri Community Preschool; for secondary students, the school pays for FIVE ACT tests for each sophomore-senior; WNCC and EWC offer 1/2 price tuition to High School students who take college classes while they are still in school and Morrill Schools pays the other 1/2 of the tuition as long as those students pass the college classes. Your children can earn their Associates Degree while they are in high school at no charge to them.
