Early Childhood Teacher
This is position is available because of an expanding early childhood program. We are moving one of our classroom teachers to the Director role, opening up a classroom position. Our Superintendent has served also as the Early Childhood Director for the past 2 and 1/2 school years. We partner with Head Start, D.H.H.S. and NDE.
Morrill is halfway between Scottsbluff, NE and Torrington, WY; nestled just north of the Wildcat Hills, we are close to amazing outdoor activities in 4 different states. Morrill is growing, both the school and the town. We have had 4 years of consecutive enrollment growth with business growth as well. The school operates a quality birth to preschool center, making early childhood care available for all our staff and community members.
The Early Childhood teacher will have the opportunity to shape the minds of and inspire creativity and and sense of wonder in a class of up to 17 students. We currently have an infant room, a toddler room and three preschool rooms. We have an early childhood special education teacher as part of our staff and we have a director certified in early childhood education, certified in zumbini and a coach with NDE in Pyramid.
The specific position will be determined on how the strengths of the individual fits with the strengths of the rest of the team. The teacher will use Creative Curriculum, Second Step, Let’s Play Learn and Pyramid to develop children’s social, emotional and kindergarten readiness skills. We document with Results Strategies Gold. Our administration, board and community are convinced that early childhood education is essential in the growth and development of today’s youth.
Second semester starts on January 6, 2019. Depending on the availability of the candidate the start date could be sooner.
Starting salary will not be less than $34,050, plus we pay each teacher an $10,500 fringe benefit stipend, and pay 1/2 the premium of Blue Cross Blue Shield medical and dental insurance. Although it would be prorated in the first year to reflect the portion of the year remaining.
