Agriculture Education Teacher

Morrill High School is looking to hire a 1/2 time plant science/horticulture teacher.

We have had agriculture education at Morrill High School for the past 9 years. We have a thriving Morrill/Mitchell  FFA Chapter. Our Agriculture teacher has an emphasis in Animal Science and Welding.

We would expect the additional teacher to lead programming and instruction related to the planning, implementation, production, management, processing and/or marketing of agricultural commodities and services including food, fiber, wood products, natural resources, horticulture and other plant products.

Beginning in the summer of 2022 we would desire for the teacher to lead a summer program extending the learning from the school year.

Additional Information

The starting salary will be based on the FTE of the successful certificated candidate related to the base salary of $35,250. The successful Permitted candidate will be offered a wage based on his/her education and experience. Other benefits and extended contract will apply as appropriate. The school year begins for new staff on August 11, 2021.  We have a 184 day teacher contract with 175 student contact days.

While this position starts as a 1/2 time position for 184 days, it is probable that it could grow into a year round  and even full time position, having a significant impact on annual wages.
