Morrill is halfway between Scottsbluff, NE and Torrington, WY; nestled just north of the Wildcat Hills we are close to amazing outdoor activities in 4 different states. Morrill is growing, both the school and the town. We have had 4 years of consecutive enrollment growth with business growth as well. The school operates a quality birth to preschool center, making early childhood care available for all our staff and community members.
The Spanish teacher will have 3-4 levels of high school Spanish instruction and also does 1 quarter of exploratory Spanish instruction with 7th and 8th graders. We have a Spanish club and support the club taking cultural trips to Spanish speaking countries. We are a progressive 1:1 school, providing a technologically proficient teacher the opportunity to use 21st century, technology rich strategies to not only impact the classroom learning strategies but use them to connect the students to the world.
We are looking for a teacher that loves teaching the Spanish language and culture, as 30% of our student body is of Latino heritage; and we want a teacher who loves developing the character, mindset and perspective of today’s youth to prepare them for their future.
New Teacher Orientation is August 9, 2019 followed by two days of all staff in-service. School starts on August 14 with a couple days of relational building activities aimed at building excitement and engagement among the students and between students and staff. We value relationship building with students.
Starting salary will not be less than $34,050, plus we pay each teacher an $10,500 fringe benefit stipend, and pay 1/2 the premium of Blue Cross Blue Shield medical and dental insurance.
We believe in high quality professional development and this year in early October another group of 10-15 teachers will have the opportunity to go to Atlanta, Georgia to the Ron Clark Academy for a two day exposure to one of the most innovative, creative and effective schools in the country.
