Before Care Program Supervisor

Qualifications

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, education or child/youth development; or

  • Hold an associate’s degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, education or child/youth development; or

  • Have a Child Development Associate Credential

Other bachelor’s or associate’s degrees will be considered with previous work experience in Montessori or early childhood education.

 

*Will also consider:

  • individuals who have a high school diploma or GED; and 1500 verified clock hours of experience in organized group activities for young children as indicated by a positive reference from a former employer or supervisor; or

  • individuals who have at least three credit hours or 45 clock hours of training in administration, early childhood education, education, or child/youth development

Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.  Must be age 18 or older.

Responsibilities

  • Assists parents/guardians in checking in children with the attendance book

  • Supervises children and facilitate activities within the designated Before Care indoor area or outdoor classroom

  • Protects the safety and well-being of the children

  • Works with individual and small groups of children

  • Uses positive language in all interactions

  • Participates in all staff meetings as requested by the Executive Director

  • Must support behavioral guidelines given by the Executive Director

  • Reports unregistered children to the Executive Director

  • Collaborate with other staff members and actively participate in all required professional development and learning activities

  • Shares information with students’ Directresses

 

Schedule

 

  • Consistent Before Care hours will be 7:40-9am on days the school is open for students during each academic school year (approximately the 3rd week in August through the 4th week in May)

  • Additional hours will be required for completing annual in-service training opportunities (6-12 hours per year depending on the average number of hours worked each week)

  • Substitute hours will vary with most shifts being from 8:30am-12:30pm, 12:30-4:30pm, or 8:30am-4:30pm on days the school is open for students during each academic school year (approximately the 3rd week in August through the 4th week in May)

  • Additional hours may be available as Before Care Supervisor during Summer Enrichment Program (typically offered 4 weeks in June and 2 weeks in July)
