7-12 Ag (Agriculture) Teacher
In anticipation of an opening, Mitchell Public Schools is seeking a 7-12 Ag (Agriculture) Teacher for the 2026-2027 School Year.
This This position includes (but is not limited to) the following courses: Exploratory Ag for Grades 7-8, Intro to Ag, Plant Science/Florticulture/Landscape Design, Veterinary Science/Livestock Management/Wildlife Management, Welding, Small Engines, and Precision Agriculture. Many of these courses are semester based or rotate on an annual basis.
In addition to the teaching role, this position requires head FFA sponsorship for the Mitchell FFA chapter. Additional contracted days and stipend (% based) will accompany this additional sponsorship. Mitchell Public Schools currently has a high-performing FFA chapter with a great deal of interest in many of the Ag related fields of study. Approximately 40 students are actively involved in FFA with many qualifying for state competition.

7–12Additional Information
Base salary for 2026-2027 is $41,200 with additional starting wage based on years of experience and education level. A flat salary (for insurance purposes) of $19,300 with the option of the school’s BCBS health insurance plan (1/2 of a single paid by the district) is available.
Additional compensation of a Category 1 Extracurricular Duty position plus extended contract (to be negotiated) is available for the FFA Sponsorship portion of this position.
The district offers 10 PTO days annually with additional opportunity for additional insurance and benefit options.
The anticipated start date for new hires will be Aug. 7, 2026.
