6th Grade Language Arts Teacher

Due to professional advancement, McCook Public Schools is looking for a 6th Grade Language Arts Teacher for the 2026/2027 School Year.  A current Nebraska Teaching Certificate is required in 5-9 or 7-12 ELA.  Questions about this position can be directed to Junior High Principal, Mr. Chad Lyons at clyons@mccookbison.org (308-344-4400 x 2). Extra duty positions are available, but not required and include:

Additional Information

Salary is dependent upon experience and education.  Base salary for the 2026/27 school year is $41,900.  Benefits include retirement, full family health insurance, single dental insurance, leave, and long term disability.  Extra Duty positions are available, but not required.  EOE.

  • Teacher Signing Bonus Available!

    • A new teacher that is certified to teach in the assigned areas PK-12 will receive a signing bonus of $2,000 each year for the first three consecutive years for a total signing bonus of $6,000 (see Negotiated Agreement Addendum 2025).
