7-12 Special Education Teacher

Wayne Community Schools, a progressive pk-12th school district in Northeast Nebraska, is currently seeking a qualified applicant for the position of 7-12th grade Special Education Teacher.  The candidate will work with a team of 7-12th grade Special Educators to provide services to students, work with paraprofessionals, organize, coordinate and manage IEP’s, communicate with staff, administration, and parents, and work with multiple agencies outside of the school system to best meet the needs of all students.  The average caseload size in the district is between 15-20 students.
Wayne offers 5 paid onboarding days to all new staff members, plus an additional 5 paid contract days to Special Education teachers.

Coaching and extra duty positions are available.

Additional Information

Base salary is $40,100 for the 2024-25 school year, with all first and second year teaching hires starting on step 3 ($43,308) which is part of a comprehensive and extensive salary and benefit package.
Start date is on or about August 8th.

Applicants must hold a Nebraska teaching certificate or have eligibility to meet requirements to obtain certification.
