Activities Director

Lincoln Lutheran Middle/High School is accepting applications for a full-time Activities Director. This position includes administering all extracurricular activities including, but not limited to, athletics and fine arts. All applicants should have a valid Nebraska Administration Certificate for the 2025-26 school year. Experience preferred but not required. All candidates should love learning, love children, and love Jesus.

 

 

Purpose of Position:  The Activities Director heads a department designed to meet school-related interests and student needs within our system that are not provided by the curricular program.  The activities program refers to clubs, classes, fine arts, intramurals and interscholastic competition. The Activities Director will be a strong, innovative, and inspiring leader who exhibits a growth mindset and exhibits the organization’s vision and mission. They will be a student of God’s Word and a light to the students and families they serve.

Supervises:   Coaches, Activity Sponsors, Facilities Director, Transportation Director, and Volunteers

JOB DESCRIPTION

 

General Statement of Duties:

  1. Schedule and oversee all activities and facilities needs/requests.

  2. Supervise and monitor utilization of all facilities and suggest needed changes.

  3. Supervise all coaches and activities sponsors.

  4. Administer the Activities Budget.

  5. Support all extracurricular groups/activities.

  6. Maintain all activities records and awards and publicize results appropriately.

  7. Represent Lincoln Lutheran at all meetings pertaining to the activities program.

  8. Effectively participates on the Lincoln Lutheran administrative team.


Detail of Support Duties:

Schedule and oversee all activities, transportation, and facilities needs/requests.

  1. Extra-curricular events – practices, games and intramurals.

  2. Special events sponsored by Lincoln Lutheran.

  3. Lincoln Lutheran Summer camps.

  4. Use of facilities by outside groups.

  5. Student transportation – games, practices, contests, field trips, etc…

  6. Maintain an accurate Master Calendar


Monitor utilization of all facilities and suggest needed changes.


Supervise all coaches and activities sponsors.

    1. Coordinate hiring process to fill vacancies.

    2. Coordinate coaching/sport handbooks/lettering criteria.

    3. Oversee the evaluation of all coaches.

    4. Responsible for staff development and orientation of activity sponsors.

      Administer the Activities Budget.

    1. Develops and monitors a budget for all activity programs.

    2. Ordering/replacing equipment and uniforms.

    3. Provide oversight of the stipend schedule.

    4. Create year-end financial report for LLSA Finance Committee

Support all extracurricular groups/activities.

    1. Monitor academic progress of all students involved in activities. NSAA and NCAA Clearinghouse & LL requirements.

    2. Negotiate and maintain contracts for activities.

    3. Work with the transportation coordinator to support transportation needs.

    4. Organize and be responsible for coverage at all home extra-curricular activities. Schedule officials, volunteers, and site supervision.

    5. Apply for and coordinate hosting of district and state events.

    6. Oversee the pass list and ticket sales.

Maintain all activities records and awards and publicize results appropriately.

    1. Coordinate application for current student awards/scholarships.

    2. Work with sponsors to maintain team/activities group records.

    3. Work with sponsors to issue letters to eligible candidates.

    4. Maintain records of recipients of past honors (All-Conference, All-State, All-District, All-City, etc.)

    5. Work with sponsors to submit activities results to appropriate media.

      Represent Lincoln Lutheran at all meetings pertaining to the activities program.

  1. Conference and District meetings.

  2. Lincoln Lutheran Booster Club.

  3. Administer information dissemination regarding activities.

    Effectively participate as a member of the Lincoln Lutheran administrative team.

Technical Skills

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Working knowledge of PowerSchool functions

  • Efficient and well organized, capable of handling various School activities in a 

professional, accurate and expedient manner.

  • Requires initiative, problem solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to maintain organized files.

Communication Skills

  • Has strong “people skills”

  • Ability to handle and resolve conflict according to the scriptural example in Matthew 18.

  • Has good communication skills (written and oral)

  • Has sound judgment, discretion, and a commitment to honor a high level of confidentiality

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree, Master’s preferred

  • Proficient English and math skills

  • Familiarity with basic accounting a plus

Physical Requirements

  • Is physically and emotionally healthy, poised, punctual and enthusiastic

  • Must be able to speak and hear well

  • Ability to assist with setup/teardown for home events
