K-12 Special Education Teacher

Thayer Central Community Schools is seeking applications for an additional Special Education Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year.  This position will likely involve middle level and secondary grades along with life skills for students but SPED grade level endorsements, PK-12, are encouraged to apply. 

A successful candidate will  be energetic, professional, and comfortable in an environment with high expectations for students and staff. This individual will demonstrate an understanding of working in a small school through collaboration, flexibility, strong problem-solving skills, and a caring attitude. 

Applicants should possess or be able to acquire a Nebraska teaching certificate with the appropriate endorsement.  Teachers hired in the endorsed area will be given all years of experience as allowed on the salary schedule. Coaching and sponsor positions may also be available. New certified staff members at Thayer Central are eligible for a bonus of up to $3000. This position will remain open until filled.

Thayer Central is a PK-12 district (NSAA Class C-2 or D-1) with approximately 450 students. All PK-12 students are in one facility located in the town of Hebron. The district also includes the towns of Chester, Hubbell, Byron, Belvidere and Gilead.
