Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Maintains a positive attitude that supports a positive school culture.
Excels at building positive relationships with students, families, and staff.
Develops, plans, and implements curriculum, lesson plans, and high yield instructional strategies for student audiences within a variety of content areas.
Uses data to drive instruction.
Presents and reinforces learning concepts within a specified subject or subject area.
Prepares appropriate documentation and reports on programs and on student progress.
Implements strong communication, collaboration and partnership with students, families, staff, and community resources that contribute to students’ success.
Executes evidence-based curriculum, instruction, intervention and assessment practices to help improve student outcomes while bridging the research-to-practice gap.
Implements with through collaboration between school and family a full continuum of supports for academic, social-emotional and behavioral growth. In addition, helps identify students who will benefit from increasingly intensive supports and implements strategies to support these students along the way.


Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
Ability to plan and implement additional programs and family nights.
Ability to evaluate, design, and implement curriculum, assessment, and/or teaching strategies.
Knowledge of learning theory and methodologies.
