Agriculture Education/FFA

Hershey Public Schools is looking for a 9-12 Agriculture Education teacher and FFA adviser.  Hershey is beginning a program of study in Nebraska Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources.  The candidate will have the opportunity to build the program of study and also provide input on the development of the FFA program.  The candidate will also have the opportunity to provide input on the construction of Agriculture related facilities including a greenhouse.  This position is strictly an Agriculture teaching position and there will not be Industrial Technology courses assigned to the Agriculture teacher.  Hershey Public Schools is a progressive district with excellent staff, students, and community support located 12 miles west of North Platte on I-80. Current enrollment is 515 in grades PreK-12.

Additional Information

Anticipated starting date for the 2022-2023 school year is August 8th, 2022. Extra duty pay will be included with the FFA adviser position and extended contract days for summer work will also be provided. There is a possibility of a candidate to start on January 4th, 2022 if they are available to begin the planning process of the new Agriculture position.  First year teachers start at $39,050 for the 2022-2023 school year. All years of teaching experience are accepted.  The salary index tops out at 2.17. Hershey Public School district pays for full family insurance through Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Nebraska with a $1,050 deductible.
