Unique Virtual Teaching Opportunities Grades 6-12

Grand Island Public Schools is excited to offer virtual teaching opportunities for students in grades 6-12. These virtual classrooms will provide rigorous learning experiences for students who are unable to attend school onsite during the 2021-2022 school year due to health concerns, conditions related to the pandemic, or other reasons where onsite attendance is not practical.  These opportunities are available to teachers who hold current Nebraska teaching certificates and may be performed from locations outside of Grand Island. Technology and curriculum resources will be provided by the district, the teacher must have access to reliable internet connections. The following positions are available:

   3 Middle School:

  • English/Language Arts

  • Math

  • Science

                           2 High School:

  • English/Language Arts and/or Social Studies

  • Math and/or Science


Virtual 6-12 teachers may also facilitate instruction for electives. Additional certifications or endorsements in Special Education, ESL/ELL, or Gifted preferred. Previous experience teaching virtually or blended instruction using Canvas LMS preferred.

Competitive salary schedule, plus $3,000 bonus paid upon successful completion of the probationary period.
