Social Worker – West Lawn Elementary School, Grand Island Public Schools

Position Purpose:  The Social Worker serves as a liaison between the school, home and community agencies, building upon a relationship of trust and mutual respect, to facilitate problem-solving efforts for at-risk students which will result in increased student social and academic success.

Desired Characteristics:

• Demonstrate knowledge of teaching and learning of various audiences and group dynamics. 

• Ability to use of computer/technology and applicable software  

• Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with staff and the public  

• Ability to work with and cooperate with staff at all levels

Position Requirements: 

 Master’s degree or higher required. Must at all times during employment possess all  required certification and training.
