Literacy Systems of Support Specialist

 

As part of GIPS’s Systems of Support, the Literacy Systems of Support Specialist provides job-embedded professional learning for building principals and Academic Support Coaches that helps GIPS teachers more effectively and consistently provide Tier I literacy instruction. In conjunction with school principals and Academic Support Coaches, the Literacy Systems of Support Specialist provides support and technical expertise that building principals and Academic Support Coaches need to effectively coach for high-quality implementation of Tier 1, 2 & 3 literacy instruction and monitor the fidelity and effectiveness of literacy instruction at all Tiers. The Literacy Systems of Support Specialist will spend the majority of their time in monitoring Tier 1 instruction, providing ongoing systems coaching support and feedback. A significant amount of time will also be spent supporting Reading Interventionists with making data-driven decisions for literacy interventions at Tier 2 and Tier 3.

Nebraska Department of Education administrative endorsement is required. Master Degree in Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Leadership, and/or specified content area.  230 day Administrative Contract.
