L4L Curriculum Coordinator – Grand Island Public Schools

Position Purpose:
The Curriculum Coordinator spearheads the development and implementation of a rigorous, standards-aligned curriculum that addresses the diverse needs of all learners within the district. Through collaborative partnerships with L4L team members, educators, Academic Support Coaches, and administrators, this role fosters pedagogical innovation and ensures instructional coherence across all levels. The Curriculum Coordinator also drives the integration of high-quality resources while promoting guaranteed and viable curriculum and effective teaching practices that maximize student achievement. Additionally, they play a vital role in facilitating job embedded professional learning opportunities that empower teachers to deliver instruction at the highest level.

Job Responsibilities:

Oversees all aspects of guaranteed and viable curriculum, instruction, and assessment for assigned areas including the development, implementation, adoption of resources and conducting the necessary professional development.

Develops district wide guaranteed and viable curriculum, instruction, and assessment and monitors implementation

Ensures district curriculum is aligned to state and college and career ready standards.

Provides ongoing evaluation of guaranteed and viable curriculum maps and monitors the level at which implementation is occurring.

Designs, recommends, and carries out pilot projects specific to assigned content areas, and disseminates and interprets the results to administrators, teachers, and staff, as appropriate.

Regularly observes instruction for assigned areas in all classrooms to inform professional learning support.

Provides support to principals in their role as instructional leaders in executing continuous school improvement strategies and actions.

Assists building leaders in the handling of day-to-day problems of instruction and acts as a thought partner for teachers and building leaders on curriculum questions.

Supervises other programs as assigned. Including development of goals and program guidance, implementation of critical components, and alignment to district priorities

Delivers professional learning to academic support coaches specific to coaching moves, district priorities, and GIPS curriculum/instructional frameworks

Provides intentional opportunities for professional learning that align with the district strategic plan and address the needs of the instructional programs and needs of the staff, including district professional learning, workshops, conferences, on-site visits and customized school-based sessions
Position Requirements:

Master Degree in Curriculum and Instruction and/or specified content area, Ed.D or Phd in Education preferred

Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to establish trust and rapport with teachers and administrators.
