Industrial Arts Teacher

Franklin Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and innovative Industrial Arts Teacher to join our educational team for the 2025-2026 school year. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching industrial arts courses to students in grades 7-12, fostering hands-on learning experiences, and helping students develop technical skills that will prepare them for both post-secondary education and career pathways.
Key Responsibilities:
- Instruction: Teach a variety of industrial arts courses, including but not limited to woodworking, metalworking, drafting, robotics, automotive technology, and engineering design.
- Curriculum Development: Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum that aligns with state and district standards, ensuring students gain a comprehensive understanding of industrial arts concepts and practical skills.
- Classroom Management: Maintain a safe and productive classroom environment by establishing clear expectations, providing effective instruction, and ensuring students adhere to safety protocols.
- Assessment and Evaluation: Monitor student progress through assessments, projects, and hands-on evaluations; provide regular feedback to students and families on academic performance and growth.
- Technology Integration: Incorporate modern tools, techniques, and technologies into the classroom to enhance the learning experience and ensure students are prepared for future careers in technical fields.
- Safety: Promote and enforce safety protocols and practices within the classroom and workshop settings, ensuring students are always working in a secure environment.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with colleagues, school staff, and administration to support students’ overall academic and personal development. Participate in school events, professional development opportunities, and departmental meetings.
- Student Engagement: Encourage students to participate in extracurricular activities related to industrial arts, such as competitions, fairs, or school-wide projects.

Start date of August 2025-26. Base Salary currently is $38.025 but will increase after the current negotiations season.
