Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Spiritual Leadership

    •  Leads in establishing a vibrant spiritual climate of the secondary school, including modeling Christ-like character and a servant’s heart in assisting staff members to grow spiritually and reach out to the students in a manner that will reflect Christ’s influence in their lives. 

    • Provide leadership for developing an ongoing plan to meet the spiritual needs of each secondary student, involving parents in the process. 

    • Uses God’s Word to instruct, inspire, and direct staff and students in God’s way. 

    • Leads and participates in staff devotions. 

  • Organizational Leadership

    • Assists in recruiting and recommending prospective faculty and staff. 

    • Supervises all certified, and non-certified staff members and volunteers in the secondary school. Mediates conflict that may arise. 

    • Oversees orientation and in-service for secondary faculty and staff. 

    • Observe and evaluate secondary faculty and staff annually. 

    • Develops, communicates, and enforces the guidelines in the secondary faculty/staff handbook. 

  • Curriculum and Instruction Leadership 

    • Provides leadership for the development of an ongoing plan to meet the educational needs of each secondary student, involving parents in the process. 

    • Design collaborative curriculum and instruction programs. 

    • Encourages varied teaching and learning styles. 

    • Assists the teachers in establishing specific instructional goals, setting up criteria-referenced standards, and reviewing textbooks, reference materials, and equipment. 

    • Promotes involvement in student academic competitions. 

    • Assists teachers in creating individual student profiles and folders. 

    • Directs a variety of assessment procedures for secondary students and assists in reporting results to various publics. 

  • Home, Church, School, and Community Relations 

    • Monitors secondary student enrollment, conducting entrance and exit interviews with parents. 

    • Handles discipline involving major problems. Mediates conflict that may arise. 

    • Develops, communicates, and enforces the guidelines in the secondary student handbook. 

    • Encourages open communication among all parts of the school community. 

    • Forms collaborative relationships and builds support with community partners, particularly churches. 

  • Business Management 

    • Assists in planning for the budget. 

    • Assists in preparing an inventory of equipment and supplies, and estimates needs for the next school year. 

  • Professional Growth and Management Responsibilities 

    • Attends requested school board meetings. 

    • Assumes other responsibilities and duties as assigned by the head of school. 

    • Communicates regularly with the head of school.

Additional Information

Qualifications:

  • A Christian man or woman qualified for spiritual leadership.
  • A growing relationship with Jesus Christ with evidence of spiritual maturity.
  • Endorses the statement of Faith without reservation (i.e., personally believes and publicly supports).
  • Active and in good standing with a local evangelical church whose fundamental beliefs are in agreement with Article II of the FCS Bylaws
  • Appropriately certified and experienced to serve as a School Principal.
