MTSS Facilitator

Essential Functions of Position:

The MTSS Facilitator works to ensure implementation integrity of evidence based practices and development of local implementation capacity. The MTSS Facilitator provides support in the implementation of evidence based practices at the ESU/District/School Leadership Team levels. The MTSS Facilitator works under the direction and supervision of the Director of Teaching and Learning combined with the advisement of the Director of Special Education at ESU 10.  

The MTSS Facilitator will effectively demonstrate: 

  1. Application of implementation science in development of a multi-tiered system of support framework at ESU, district or school levels;

  2. Provide training, coordination, and modeling of evidence based practices at ESU, district, or school levels (curriculum, instruction, intervention & assessment) for academics and social emotional behavioral learning (including PBIS);

  3. Familiarity with state and federal accountability standards;

  4. Expertise in state and local assessment systems, including but not limited to data analysis, report interpretation, and use of data in implementing evidence based practices;

  5. Expertise in the use of multiple data sources (at both system and student levels) to drive decisions and improve instruction;

  6. Proficient in the MTSS problem solving process;

  7. Organization and planning skills for setting short and long term goals, and for coordinating efforts for timely accomplishment of such goals;

  8. Effective verbal and written  communication, both within the local district, and external stakeholders;

  9. Experience in preparing and presenting high quality, research based professional development;

  10. Strong interpersonal skills demonstrated through the respect of peers and the ability to build trusting, collaborative relationships;

  11. Ability to work with representative leadership teams to develop local capacity;

  12. Commitment to partnering with ESU 10 and NeMTSS colleagues to advocate and align MTSS implementation efforts with local district initiatives.

  • NWEA MAP Certified Facilitator

  • Reading Specialist

Education Level: 

  • Master’s degree in education or related field

  • Minimum of five years of experience in public and/or private school or related field 

Certification/Licensure:  

  • Nebraska Teaching Certificate in related field
