ESU 8 Life Skills Teacher

Join our amazing team of professionals and work with a highly  skilled mentor teacher! You will have a small caseload (less than 10 students)!

ESU 8 is currently accepting applications for a special education teacher for the 2022-2023 school year.   We will consider teachers with a provisional sped endorsement.

The teacher will work with elementary aged students in an ESU 8 operated Level III program located  in Norfolk for students with cognitive disabilities.  At the Eastern Learning Center students learn functional academics, communication skills, social skills, and daily living skills.   The teacher will help them practice these skills at school and in community settings.

Responsibilities include writing and implementing IEPs, providing instruction in academics and daily living skills, working with related services providers, and supervising paraprofessionals.

Additional Information

Our salary schedule starts at $40660 for teachers with a bachelor’s degree and no experience.

ESU 8 pays 100% of Employee/Child insurance premium or provides cash in lieu.  100% employee dental insurance premium paid by ESU 8.  Long term disability insurance paid by ESU 8.
