Behavior Consultant
Do you have experience in general education and special education? Do you like to problem solve to help students with challenging behaviors?
The ESU 8 behavior consultant will conduct classroom observations, document behavior, and provide feedback and suggestions to teachers and administrators. The behavior consultant will assist staff in data collection and interpretation and work with IEP teams to develop Behavior Intervention Plans. The behavior consultant will help teams determine if a placement within the ESU 8 Behavior Program is appropriate. The behavior consultant will also work within the ESU 8 Behavior Program to help students learn self regulation strategies. Knowledge of general education curriculum, classroom management strategies, academic and behavior interventions is required as well as experience in working in special education. A strong candidate will have experience in developing and implementing IEPs as well as an understanding of the MTSS process.
Candidates must have an endorsement in K-12 Special Education or be a school psychologist.
