Early Childhood Special Educator – Temporary Substitute

TEMPORARY SUBSTITUTE POSITION – Beginning September 2024 for to 2-3 months

Summary

The Early Childhood Special Educator follows Nebraska Department of Education (NDE) guidelines for approved preschools including children with and without disabilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Confers with parents, administrators and others to develop individual educational program (IEP) for students.
  • Plans curriculum, prepares and carries out lessons and other instructional materials to meet individual needs of students, considering state and school requirements, physical, emotional and educational levels of development.
  • Creates learning materials geared to each student’s learning ability and interest.
  • Works with students to increase motivation, provides consistent reinforcement learning, continuous assessment of level functioning, and continuous feedback to students for all learning activities.
  • Maintains records in accordance with state and federal requirements.
  • Attends scheduled staff meetings and in-service activities.
  • Regular and reliable on-site attendance is an essential function of this job.

Additional Information

  • Salary:  $145/day for the first 10 days; $222/day for day 11+
  • Qualifications:  Valid Nebraska Teaching Certificate with Early Childhood Special Education endorsement preferred; Local Substitute Certificate required
