Provides diagnostic services to program youth to facilitate an environment where students can learn.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
Provides for diagnostic services for youth enrolled in an organizational program.

Conducts assessments of cognitive, educational, behavioral, and emotional functioning of youth and provides formal reports documenting the results of special education evaluations.

Attends Multidisciplinary Team and Individual Education Plan meetings for Boys Town schools.

Consults with teachers and school administrative personnel regarding implementation of strategies and interventions; provides recommendations and addresses both behavioral and academic functioning.

Works with schools and outside agencies to provide transition services for youth leaving a program.

Integrates services across the school and residential settings.

Administers the operating policies and procedures of Boys Town and the Boys Town Schools.

Handles contacts appropriately with internal staff and outside agencies, including media and special interest groups.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Ability to design and conduct evaluation activities in child behavior problems.

Knowledge of regulatory requirements pertaining to youth care.

Computer skills in Microsoft Office.

Ability to communicate in an articulate, professional manner while maintaining necessary degree of confidentiality.

Ability to adapt responses to situations while maintaining procedural and regulatory integrity.

Knowledge of the Boys Town Model.

Additional Information
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
-
Specialist Degree in School Psychology required.
-
Ability to become licensed in the State of Nebraska required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
-
Experience in the analytical treatment of child behavior problems preferred.
