School Counselor – Creighton Prep

Creighton Prep is currently accepting applications for a full-time student support position as school counselor beginning on August 1, 2024.


Possible courses, programs, and activities include:


  • Collaboration with teachers, academic coach, college counselor, learning specialist, mental health practitioner, student support specialist, parents and administration in caring for students
  • Work with approximately 200 students across all grade levels in addressing academic, personal, socio-economic, and college planning needs
  • Planning and delivering a comprehensive counseling curriculum to students at each grade level
  • Coaching or moderating teams, clubs, or other extra-curricular activities

Additional Information


  • Master’s degree in counseling or in progress with achieving that degree
  • Valid Nebraska teaching certificate with an endorsement in secondary school guidance or the ability to obtain one prior to August 2024
  • Preference for counselors who have experience in secondary school counseling and in college counseling.
  • Experience with and desire to engage in extracurricular activities such as coaching or moderating clubs and activities is highly desirable
  • The ability to respond effectively to the needs of a diverse student and parent population
  • The ability to collaborate with colleagues, including teachers, counselors and administrators
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Preference for experience with counseling and educational technology, including but not limited to iPads, Scoir, PowerSchool, Canvas and Google Suites
