Secondary Special Education Resource Teacher
Cozad Community Schools is accepting applications for a Secondary Special Education Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. At Cozad Community Schools, we believe in every student’s potential. We are looking for a compassionate, skilled, and enthusiastic Special Education Teacher to join our team and help make a meaningful difference in the lives of our students.
As a Secondary Special Education Teacher at Cozad Community Schools, you’ll work with students who have a range of learning needs. You’ll be responsible for collecting and using data to create individualized learning plans, offering one-on-one or small group instruction, and collaborating with our talented team of teachers and staff to ensure each student is supported and encouraged.
Job tasks include, but not limited to:
– Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that reflect each student’s strengths, needs, and goals.
– Provide tailored instruction in both small groups and one-on-one settings, using creative and adaptable strategies to meet diverse learning styles.
– Partner with general education teachers to ensure that students are fully included in classroom activities and learning when possible.
– Keep track of student progress, adjusting lessons and strategies to provide the best support for each child.
– Regularly communicate with families, sharing updates on progress, celebrating successes, and discussing challenges.
– Attend and contribute to IEP meetings and collaborate with the rest of the school team to support students both academically and socially.
– Foster a classroom environment that is positive, inclusive, and welcoming—one where students feel safe, respected, and excited to learn.
Grades
9–12Additional Information
Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in Special Education (or related field), with a Master’s degree being a bonus; hold or be eligible to obtain, a Nebraska Department of Education Teaching Certificate.
