Special Education Teacher – Behavior Disorder Program
Columbus Public Schools is currently hiring a special education behavior disorder teacher for the 2025 spring semester (January). The teacher must be able to teach programs according to IEPs for students with verified handicapping conditions. The instructor will provide leadership and supervision of students in developing, organizing, and utilizing resources for an effective instructional program at the middle school level. The teacher will have excellent interpersonal skills to consult effectively with teachers, administrators, and parents, in a variety of settings.

- Base salary for 2024-2025 school year starting at $40,200/year + $12,000 Cash Stipend ($1000/month to be used for purchase of health/dental insurance or may be taken as cash).
- Up to a $2,500 signing bonus. Bonus tied to hard-to-fill designation.
- All years of experience may be granted if deemed a hard-to-fill position.
- Stipend for additional caseload (proposed).
- Must hold a NE Teaching Certificate with the proper endorsement.
- Starting January 3, 2025.
These are related to programs covered under Title 92, Chapter 51 of the Nebraska Department of Education. Programs funded by Federal Grant funds may have additional requirements.
