REQUIREMENTS: 

 A. Education Level: Master’s degree

  1. Master’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or subfield or

Master’s degree in a related field with 18 graduate hours in Early Childhood Education or subfield

Master’s degree and a minimum of 12 graduate credits in Early Childhood Education or subfield and five (5) years of collective relevant work experience equating to a maximum of 6 credits or 3-6 graduate credits in a related subfield OR combination thereof.


B. Certification or Licensure: preferred valid Nebraska Teaching Certificate

 

C. Experience Desired: 3-5 years 

 

D. Other Requirements: A relatively high level of analytical ability is required for advising and/or referring students, preparing course plans, and/or other activities. A substantial level of interpersonal skills to provide guidance and referrals for students regarding sensitive issues.  



  1. Must have a working knowledge of college software to include Canvas for lecture and online instruction to communicate with college personnel and students.  Must also be able to learn to operate additional computer programs including Procare.
  2. Must be motivated to learn and grow in an educationalenvironment and be willing to continually increase knowledge in the field of Early Childhood Education.  
  3. Must be able to manage multiple staff members daily.  
  4. Must be able to answer phone calls and emails with the appropriate information and in a professional manner.  
  5. Must have the ability to be organized and have multiple projects going at once.  
  6. Must be able to relate with and speak to parents in a respectful manner.  
  7. Must be able to maintain composure during high stress situations.  
  8. Must be CPR and First Aid Certified or be willing to become certified within 90 days of employment.

 

REPORTS TO: Child Development Center Coordinator & Building Administrator

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

FREQUENT –


 Alternates opening and closing the center with the Child Development Center Coordinator (CDCC).

·          Will instruct two high school early college classes per semester

·         Assists CDCC with various duties delegated to them by the CDCC.  For example, they may
create the weekly staff schedule, or make sure files are updated.

·         Helps with enrollment of new families.

·         Helps with the hiring of new employees.

·         Keeps child and staff files updated.

·         Keeps track of the number of children in each classroom throughout the day and makes
necessary teacher moves to maintain ratios.

·         Addresses any parent or staff concerns.

·         Classroom substitute.
